In 1953 Vidal and Sons introduced the Tempo Wiking, a light four wheel commercial van. The first version was powered by a two cylinder 452cc Heinkel two-stroke motor.
Although relatively underpowered it was cheap and versatile and enjoyed relatively strong sales.
In 1957 the Wiking was completely redesigned and renamed the Wiking-Rapid. The new Rapid was powered by a 948cc four stroke engine supplied by Austin of England. The Rapid remained in production until 1963.
