This multi-lingual review of the Tempo G1200 'cross country' car was published in a German automotive magazine in 1939.
It is interesting to note that the article mentions some G1200's were exported to Australia. I would like to know where they ended up.

ReplyDeleteI have a 1937 Tempo Vidal G1200 and as we were restoring the car we realised both the engines of my car are dead. We tried to restore the engines, but the crank case and shaft and pistons are broken. Can you help me find both the front and rear engine of this car. It would be great to get in touch with someone who would be able to connect me with someone who has parts.
Hi. This is the G1200 that's in India right? If so, the best source for contacts is the Facebook group for Tempo owners I mentioned separately. https://www.facebook.com/groups/478404852326237/ There are a few other owners there, mainly in South America.
DeleteAnother place you may want to look is the Ebay small market website in Germany. Here is a link (searching for Tempo Drierad parts here - you'd want to look for G1200). https://www.ebay-kleinanzeigen.de/s-tempo-dreirad/k0 You will find some Tempo parts for all models show up here, but the 600 engine you need is quite rare. You may be able to find a stray 600 engine if you are patient. If not though, I'm not sure if you could possibly substitute a DKW 600 two stroke engine? They are very similar in size and layout. There are plenty of them around. It's a long shot though.

ReplyDeleteWe managed to get the rear engine working so I'm going to complete the car and fix it up with the body work. In the mean while I'll try all the links to find the engine if not then yes I will mostly go in for the dkw two stroke 600 engine
